The Colares wine is renowned for being truly unique in the world. Its terroir, strongly influenced by the Atlantic, produces wines with extraordinary salinity and complex aromas that deepen with bottle aging. Founded in 1898 by António Bernardino da Silva Chitas in Azenhas do Mar, the estate initially focused on the Lisbon region and large‑scale exports to Brazil. Today, under the stewardship of his son, António Bernardino da Silva Chitas Jr., and grandson, António Bernardino Paulo da Silva, sales are now concentrated not only domestically but also in substantial exports to various European countries and the United States.
