Description

The Maturana Tinta is an indigenous Rioja variety that was revived after years of research and work. It produces small, compact clusters, and the berries are similarly tiny. Very susceptible to botrytis, its bud break is late, although the fruit ripens early. This gives rise to a wine with spicy aromas—dark fruit, pepper, clove, and a mineral undertone. On the palate the spiciness continues, finishing with an elegant, deep finish.
