The Quinta da Ribeirinha is located in Póvoa de Santarém, in the Tejo region. Passion for wine—and, above all, a constant dedication to viticultural activity—has been passed down through the Cândido family for generations. José Cândido, the family patriarch, began his career as a farmer from a young age, with wine as his primary source of income. A few years later, his son Joaquim Cândido, a doctor and wine enthusiast, inherited the business, expanded the vineyards, built a private cellar, and adopted scientific methods as technology advanced. Soon after, Joaquim’s children, Mariana and Rui, an economist and a biochemist, joined the team to manage the company. Enology is now handled by César Machado. (illustrative image only)
