The bottles of old wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, which is to be expected given their age. The National Cellar is obliged to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We select brands/regions that, by norm, reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of aged wines. However, we inform that wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even within a bottle, aromas evolve in different ways. Thus, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product's quality, as it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine aerate first, which will help release its natural aromas after so many years closed. If you choose to decant the wine before serving, ensure you do so patiently to detect the appearance of sediment that an old wine tends to produce. (image purely illustrative)
