For over 50 years, the history of Adega Cooperativa de Portalegre has unfolded. As the years passed, it accumulated knowledge and experience, skillfully combining the unique location of its vineyards with the work of Iníciom. In 1954, a group of people organized themselves to turn the grapes of founding members and shareholders into wine. Taking advantage of the excellent location of the vineyards on the slopes of Serra de S. Mamede, the first great wines of Alentejo were born. (illustrative image)
