The bottles of the older wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, as expected for their age. Garrafeira Nacional commits to storing all wines at the proper temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to maintain the visual appearance that reflects their age. We select brands/regions that, in general, reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of old wines. However, we note that wine is a living organism that ages over time, and even while sealed in a bottle, its aromas are subject to various evolutions. Accordingly, Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine breathe first, which will help release its natural aromas after many years closed.
