Located on the right bank of the Douro River, between Régua and Pinhão, the Quinta do Crasto spans about 130 hectares, of which 70 are planted with vines. The estate also includes the Quinta do Querindelo, with 10 hectares of Vinha Velha, and the Quinta da Cabreira in the Upper Douro, which boasts 114 hectares of vineyards. With a privileged position in the Demarcated Region of the Douro, Quinta do Crasto has been owned by the family of Leonor and Jorge Roquette for over a century. As is common with the grand estates of the Douro, the origins of Quinta do Crasto date back to ancient times—the name “Crasto” derives from the Latin *castrum*, meaning Roman fort.
