Situated on the right bank of the Douro River, between Régua and Pinhão, Quinta do Crasto spans roughly 130 hectares, 70 of which are planted with vineyards. The estate also includes Quinta do Querindelo, with 10 hectares of Vinha Velha, and Quinta da Cabreira in the Upper Douro, boasting 114 hectares of vines. With its privileged location in the Demarcated Douro Region, Quinta do Crasto has belonged to the family of Leonor and Jorge Roquette for over a century. As is typical of the great Quintas of the Douro, the estate’s origins reach back to ancient times – the name Crasto derives from the Latin “castrum,” meaning Roman fort. (Illustrative image only)
