Located on the right bank of the Douro River, between Régua and Pinhão, Quinta do Crasto is an estate of about 130 hectares, of which 70 are planted with vineyards. The company's holdings also include Quinta do Querindelo, with 10 hectares of old vines (Vinha Velha), and Quinta da Cabreira in the Douro Superior, with 114 hectares of vineyards. Set in a privileged location within the Douro Demarcated Region, Quinta do Crasto has been owned by the Roquette family, Leonor and Jorge, for over a century. As is often the case with the great Douro estates, the history of Quinta do Crasto goes back a long way: the name "Crasto" derives from the Latin *castrum*, meaning Roman fort.
