This Douro wine from Casa Vincultores is a truly captivating journey, anchored by Rufete alongside a chorus of century-old vines. Harvested between September and October 2019 under ideal conditions, the resulting must boasts a vibrant acidity and beautifully integrated tannins. The traditional, two-day foot-treading in granite lagares – overseen by the talented Cristiano van Zeller and Joana Pinhão – extracts colour and flavour with remarkable finesse, enhanced by fermentation in new French oak barriques. The result is a deeply pigmented purple wine, brimming with concentrated aromas of black cherries and ripe plums, evolving elegantly thanks to the oak influence, finishing with an exceptionally long and fruity note – a testament to the producers’ skill.
