The Delaforce family, of Huguenot origin, has a wine‑trade history spanning more than 400 years. Their involvement with Port wine began in 1834 when John Fleurriet Delaforce travelled to Porto to set up a new firm for Martinez Gassiot on behalf of his partners. In 1868, his son George Henry Delaforce, inspired by the richness of the Douro and the world of Port, founded his own company, House of Delaforce. The year of bottling may not match the image shown.
