Descendants of J. Palacios was founded in 1999 when Álvaro and Ricardo decided to start a joint project and named it after Álvaro’s father and Ricardo’s grandfather, José Palacios. The cellar, built on a hill, relies on gravity for vinification. The vineyards, now covering 35 hectares, employ biodynamic cultivation for both production and maintenance. Over the years it has been fascinating to watch the project evolve, increasingly spotlighting the Bierzo region and proving its ability to produce unique, compelling wines worthy of ageing.
