This wine, hailing from the ancient parcels of Corullón, is a testament to the fact that shale has a soul – and that the landscape, stretching between 500 and 950 metres, imparts a truly unique character. The vines, aged between 50 and 90 years, share the same Cambrian bedrock soil, planted at a density of 6,000 to 7,000 vines per hectare, creating a complexity that shines through in the final wine. Fermented in French oak vessels with drilled heads, and aged in used new French barrels, the winemaking clearly prioritises respecting the terroir. Produced in a limited run of just 28,000 bottles, this rare and surprising wine is destined for discerning palates – a superb match with a hearty beef roast, to beautifully balance its acidity and tannins.
