According to its age, the wines may show signs of time, such as dust on the bottles and/or some damage to the labels—common in wines that have been stored for decades. The National Cellar ensures that all wines are stored at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always preserves the visual appearance that corresponds to their age. We usually select brands/regions that perform well in vintage wine competitions. However, wine is a living organism that, like everything else, is exposed to time, and even inside a bottle its aromas can evolve in different ways. Therefore, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the quality of a vintage wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let it breathe first, as this helps release the natural aromas after many years of storage. Avoid decanting, as it can be too aggressive for aged wines.
