With estates in the Upper Douro, around Almendra, Casa Agrícola Roboredo Madeira (CARM) has been part of the region’s viticulture since the late nineteenth century. Its oldest vineyard dates back to 1966, and since then it has introduced new traditional varieties, now grown using organic methods. Since the cellar’s construction in 2004, the wines have reflected a passion for the land and respect for nature, capturing the scents and flavours of soil, schist, slate, flowers and wild fruit. With a new approach, they now also produce vegan wines, embracing ethical and sustainable principles. (Illustrative image only)
