Founded in 1920 by Deonilde Freitas and later carried on by Germana Freitas and Ermelinda Freitas, the family has always given wine special attention. From the very first generation, the house has bet on the quality of its vineyards and wines, which were initially produced and sold in bulk without a private label. It was with the current management that the big shift to creating private labels happened, and in 1997 a new chapter began with the first wine produced and bottled by Casa Ermelinda Freitas.
