Description

Depending on its age, wines may show signs left by time, such as dust on the bottles and/or some label damage—common in wines that have been stored for decades. The National Cellar stores all wines at the proper temperature and humidity but retains the visual appearance inherent to their age. We usually select brands/regions that perform well in old‑wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even inside a bottle its aromas evolve. Thus the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, given its age. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let it breathe first, which helps release its natural aromas after so many years closed. Avoid decanting, as it can be too aggressive for old wines.
