Guy Roulot, a legendary producer of some of the finest Meursaults — if not some of the world’s best white wines — elevated the small family estate to stardom. Consequently, Domaine Roulot became the master of the “lieu‑dit,” with five principal plots classified as “Cru” in Meursault and Monthelie. Guy’s sudden death in 1982 left the family in transition, as his son, Jean‑Marc, had decided to pursue an acting career. With the support and guidance of three well‑known growers, he was prepared for the transition, which took place in 1989 when he permanently assumed the managerial role of the estate. Since then, Jean‑Marc’s progress has brought even more attention to Domaine Roulot, whose wines are now among the most sought‑after in all of Burgundy and the most internationally recognised.
