An extraordinary red wine crafted from the iconic Mencía grape of Bierzo. In this case it comes from one of the region’s most famous and respected vineyards, Finca El Rapolao. It has always been a plot of land no one wanted, because the grapes struggle to ripen: the sun only arrives at noon, and only for a few hours in the afternoon, as the nearby Monte Corullón casts a gloomy shadow. Fewer than a thousand bottles reach the market, making it one of Spain’s wine treasures.
