Matilde Reserva Red Wine is produced from the region’s own grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Amarela and fermented by the traditional method of treading the grapes by foot in granite tanks. It aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. The colour is ruby and the aroma is intense and complex, evoking black plum and fig, followed by cedar. In the mouth the wine is voluptuous with good acidity. The tannins are well‑present but very smooth, resulting in a perfect balance and a long‑lasting aftertaste.
