This Duas Quintas Reserva, a project by Adriano Ramos Pinto, certainly makes you wonder if Portuguese winemaking is *really* as bold as it seems. Crafted from the Quintas de Ermoira and Bons Ares, the deep ruby colour reveals a complexity starting with a wonderfully intense black cherry and plum, almost daring you to unravel it. As it evolves, you’ll find intriguing notes of spice, a strong connection to the Douro terroir, and a surprisingly long finish – a delightful echo of the Ramos Pinto legacy. A wine for those who enjoy a bit of a challenge and aren’t afraid to question what’s considered ‘innovative’.
