Description

Duorum O Duorum Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) is born from a rigorous selection of grapes from a single vintage, capturing the intensity and authenticity of the Douro in the classic style of Port wine. It is a wine meant to be enjoyed immediately, without sacrificing complexity and identity, translating Duorum’s vision for high‑quality Ports. The harvest is carried out manually in 15‑kg crates, ensuring the integrity of the grape from the vine to the cellar. During vinification, old vines are used with a predominance of Touriga Nacional (40 %) and Touriga Franca (40 %), complemented by Tinta Cão (10 %) and Sousão (10 %). The process begins with a pre‑fermentative maceration at temperatures between 10–12 °C, followed by fermentation in stainless‑steel vats with robotic crushing, at a controlled temperature that never exceeds 30 °C. This method allows for strong extraction of compounds present in the skins, contributing to the structure and intensity of the wine. The aromatic complexity and elegance stem from the dominance of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grapes, paired with the richness of very old vines, some over a hundred years old. Sousão adds structure, concentration, and persistence, while Tinta Cão provides freshness and elegance. The final quality is further reinforced by a meticulous selection of the vinous spirit, chosen for its organoleptic elegance. The wine ages for two years in used French oak barrels with a capacity of 640 litres. Throughout this period, the wine is subjected to blending, analyses, and regular tastings, allowing its evolution to be monitored and the final lot to be defined. Ideal as a digestif, this LBV pairs perfectly with dishes such as steak au poivre, chocolate, and egg desserts, standing out especially with angel’s pockets.
