E. Guigal was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis, a small old village and cradle of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. It houses an original vineyard where the vines and wines have been famous for over 2,400 years. In 1924, at the age of 14, the founder took part in 67 harvests in the Côte‑Rôtie region and, early in his career, helped develop the Vidal‑Fleury estate. (illustrative image only)
