E. Guigal was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis, a small ancient village that is the cradle of the Côte‑Rôtie appellation. It houses an original vineyard where the vines and wines have been celebrated for more than 2,400 years. In 1924, at the age of 14, the founder harvested 67 times in the Côte‑Rôtie region and, early in his career, helped develop the Vidal‑Fleury estate. (illustrative image only)
