El Portillo is a small vineyard covering just under a hectare and a half, situated in the upper part of the Las Navas encrave in Gumiel de Mercado. It was planted in 1936 by the Calvo family, and today the brothers Rodrigo and Asier tend to the fruit of their heritage. From this single‑vineyard they produce a red blend of Tinto Fino, Garnacha and Valenciano—the local name for Bobal. The wine is complex and spicy, rich in nuance with a very seductive fruit character, a tribute to Gumiel de Mercado’s viticultural culture and its family.
