Old wine bottles may show dust and damaged labels, which is normal given their age. The National Cellar stores all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance that comes with age. We select brands and regions that, by default, reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of aged wines. However, we note that wine is a living organism; even sealed in a bottle, its aromas evolve over time. Consequently, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality because it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine aerate first, which will help release its natural aromas after so many years closed. If you choose to decant before serving, do so patiently so you can detect any sediment that an old wine tends to produce. (illustrative image)
