The fine bubbles are complemented by aromas of peaches, ripe pears, flowers, and hints of tropical fruit. On the palate it feels creamy yet sweet, with a long finish. In 1861, in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Penedès, the Sala family began a venture of producing and exporting quality wines. At the start of the twentieth century, the marriage of Dolores Sala to Pedro Ferrer revolutionised the business by combining Dolores's oenological expertise with Pedro's commercial acumen and innovation. From that union emerged the Freixenet brand, one of the largest Cava producers, with its first bottle bearing the brand name released in 1911. Since that first bottle, the brand has continued to be guided by its values and today, in addition to its own vineyards, Freixenet is also supplied by the production of more than 2,000 local growers, making it one of the most iconic Cava sparkling wine houses in the world.
