Portuguese winemaker António Maçanita and English consultant and viticulturist David Booth met in early 2004. Over the following months, António was already learning viticulture from David, and a strong friendship blossomed. The next step was to make wine. Their first wine won the Trophy Alentejo at the International Wine Challenge, earning the award for the second time in 22 years of competition. (illustrative image only)
