Description

Crafted from the celebrated Nerello Mascalese grapes – often dubbed the ‘queen’ of indigenous Etna varieties – this wine hails from the Carranco estate, where vines flourish for around 50 years. Vinified in concrete vessels, following time-honoured tradition, and aged in large oak barrels, it powerfully expresses the volcanic character of its homeland, boasting intense minerality and acidity, culminating in a remarkably elegant finish. The tannins are remarkably light, smooth, and intensely flavourful, perfectly complementing a dish of roasted guinea fowl.
