Right then, let’s have a go at that: This Cabernet Sauvignon from the Margaça family is clearly a little cheeky – it’s determined to remind us that the Alentejo still has a few surprises up its sleeve. Expect a seriously concentrated wine, brimming with ripe red berry notes and a subtle hint of black pepper, as you’d hear it described around here. The granite-rich Alentejo terroir certainly lends itself to a robust character, and it’s a fantastic pairing with a hearty roast, or if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, a beautifully trimmed rabbit.
