Salmos is a tribute to the monks of the Carthusian order who, in 1095, arrived in Priorat, where they cultivated the vine. In 1835, a violent mob destroyed the work of a lifetime and sacked the charterhouse, events that would later culminate in the Mendizábal disentailment. In 1996, the Torres family began planting vineyards on the llicorella slate slopes and started writing the story of this elegant red, with subtle toasted notes and a distinctly mineral character, as is fitting for wines from this area.
