This Fat Baron Reserva certainly seems to have been on a little holiday – boasting a vibrant citrine hue and a wonderfully evocative aroma of perfectly ripe quince, a true nod to the Setúbal Peninsula. The winemaking team clearly favours harvesting during the coolest periods, resulting in intensely concentrated and elegant fruit. The blend of Chardonnay alongside the classic local grapes – Arinto, Antão Vaz and Verdelho – delivers a complex structure and a lingering finish, well worth noting. Delicious with grilled fish or a seafood rice dish, naturally.
