Fattoria Aldobrandesca Vie Cave Malbec Sovana Tinto

Description

The Antinori family has devoted itself to winemaking for more than six hundred years. In 1385, Giovanni di Piero Antinori became a member of the Florentine Guild of Winemakers. Over its long history, spanning 26 generations, the family has always managed this activity directly, making innovative and sometimes bold choices while always maintaining an unwavering respect for tradition and the land. Fattoria Aldobrandesca is located in southern Maremma, at the heart of what is known as the “Etruscan area of the Tufi.” First the land was Etruscan, then Roman. In 594 Sovana was conquered by the Lombards, who assigned it to the powerful Aldobrandeschi family, from which Fattoria Aldobrandesca also takes its name. Fattoria Aldobrandesca represents a major challenge for the Antinori Marquises in rediscovering an ancient, traditional variety such as Aleatico and in developing a variety like Malbec, which has found a new vocation in this territory.
