Made exclusively from the Baga grape, sourced from certified organic and biodynamic vineyards, Nossa Calcário Tinto is a pure and profound expression of the limestone soils that give it its name. It presents a deep cherry-red colour with ruby reflections and excellent concentration. The aroma shows great purity, dominated by violet and wild strawberry notes, wrapped in subtle smoky and spiced nuances, while still young. With ageing, it gains complexity, energy and aromatic depth. On the palate it is structured and intense, with fine, noble tannins perfectly integrated. Rich yet balanced, it combines a silky texture with a vibrant acidity that gives it freshness and longevity. The finish is long, elegant and harmonious. A wine with strong gastronomic potential, ideal for accompanying well‑cooked quality meats, game and characterful cheeses. With extraordinary ageing potential, it can evolve in the bottle for several decades, revealing additional layers of complexity over time. Filipa Pato confirms the old saying that a “son of a fish knows how to swim.” Although she followed in her father Luís Pato’s footsteps, even in her academic training, Filipa always wanted her own world, her own project, where she would show her ideas and rise with her own rhythm. The 2001 harvest, a great year in Bairrada, would provide all that.
