From the heart of the Douro wine-growing region, at the transition between the Cima Corgo and the Upper Douro, **Flor das Tecedeiras** is a modern-style wine that is full of fruit and a mirror of the excellent terroir of this area. Made from the grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Amarela, Flor das Tecedeiras is an opulent wine crafted on the great traditions of the region’s most respected growers. On the nose it offers woodland aromas, where blackberries and blueberries mingle with plum notes. In the mouth it is expressive and full-bodied, revealing a floral profile with delicate black fruit hints, vanilla, and a touch of minerality. Historically known as Quinta da Teixeira or Quinta da Teixeira Velha, the estate earned its current name from the nuns who lived there and devoted themselves to weaving linen—an activity that once thrived on the land. At the end of the 19th century, the vineyards were devastated by phylloxera, but the estate survived thanks to olive and fruit production. Years later the vineyards were revived, with a careful effort to preserve some of the older plots—an inheritance that now supplies enologists with wine from the ancient vines.
