Based on its age, the wines may show signs of aging such as dust on the bottles and/or damage to the labels, which is common in wines that have been stored for decades. The National Cellar is committed to storing all wines at the proper temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance that comes with age. We typically select brands/regions that usually perform well in old‑wine competitions. However, wine is a living organism that, like any other, is exposed to time, and even inside a bottle its aromas evolve in different ways. Therefore, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the quality of the wine, given that it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let it aerate beforehand, as this helps release the wine’s natural aromas after so many years sealed. Avoid decanting—it can be too aggressive for old wines. (Illustrative image only)
