Old wine bottles may show dust and damaged labels, which is normal for their age. The National Wine Cellar is committed to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance that comes with age. We select brands and regions that typically display distinct characteristics in tastings of old wines. However, we want to make it clear that wine is a living organism that ages over time, and even inside a bottle its aromas are subject to various evolutions. Therefore, the National Wine Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine breathe beforehand, as this will help release its natural aromas after many years of being sealed. If you choose to decant the wine before serving, be patient and watch for the appearance of sediment, which is typical of older wines. (Illustrative image)
