The Pico Island Viticultural Cooperative was founded in 1949, when local growers joined forces to revive noble grape varieties and the stone‑terraced vineyard culture, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over the years, more members have joined, bringing the total to 250—women, men, and families who dedicate their lives to their passion and a centuries‑old art. Today, with 70 years of history, it remains the oldest wine producer in the Azores, continuing to respect and preserve viticultural traditions.
