A 60‑year‑old field blend planted with native grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Jaen, Tinto Cão, Rufete, Baga, Alvarelhão, Aragonês, among others, gives rise to Freire Lobo Wines’ Vinho tinto Reserva—a refined and elegant Dão wine that showcases the full potential and character of a vineyard perched on the slope of Serra da Estrela, planted on granite soils. Freire Lobo Wines is headquartered in Oliveira do Hospital, within the demarcated Dão region. With a philosophy that respects the vineyard and the inherent character of its wines, the producer uses traditionally Portuguese grapes to preserve the region’s identity.
