The name Gaintus comes from a climbing route in the Pyrenees. Within this range it is a red wine made entirely from the Sumoll grape, a Mediterranean variety that is practically extinct, with only 200 hectares left in Catalonia. It is a lively and complex wine, with a spicy nuance and good acidity.
