The bottles of the older wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, which is consistent with their age. The National Wine Cellar commits to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but always chooses to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We carry out a selection of brands and regions that, normally, reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of aged wines. However, we inform you that wine is a living organism that, even when sealed in a bottle, is subject to different evolutions over time. Accordingly, the National Wine Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, since it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine aerate beforehand, as this will help release its natural aromas after so many years of being closed. If you choose to decant the wine before serving, do so patiently so you can detect the appearance of sediment, which a typical aged wine tends to develop. (illustrative image)
