This "Truquilemu" from Garage Co. seems to have been given a hefty dose of mystery – and a curious 4% of Syrah, no less! Crafted in an exceptional 2018 vintage with a relatively restrained 12.8% alcohol, the wine unfolds with a genuinely surprising depth, revealing layers of flavour that evolve beautifully in the glass. Apparently, the meticulous care given to the grapes during fermentation has resulted in a somewhat ethereal quality. Robert Parker’s 98/100 score certainly suggests Garage Co. is onto something truly special – well worth the wait, particularly when paired with robust red meat dishes.
