According to its age, wines may show signs left by time, such as dust residue on the bottles and/or some label damage, which is common in wines that have been stored for decades. The National Cellar commits to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, yet always opts to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We typically select brands/regions that perform well in old‑wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even inside a bottle its aromas evolve. Consequently, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, given that it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open and let the bottle aerate beforehand, which helps release its natural aromas after so many years closed. Avoid decanting, as it can be too aggressive for old wines.
