This Alvarinho from the Alentejo is a rather intriguing limited edition. The winemaking process seems to have been thoughtfully orchestrated, with a fermentation in stainless steel bringing a welcome burst of freshness. Notably, a lengthy *bâtonnage* – a full two to three months – has added an unexpected layer of complexity, quite remarkable for this particular grape. It’s a wine that’s absolutely begging for some grilled fish and a squeeze of lemon.
