The young entrepreneur Manuel María González began his career in the wine world as a trader, partnering with Juan Bautista Dubosc and Francisco Gutiérrez de Agüera. Given the success of his company, he quickly became involved in production, under the guidance of his maternal uncle, José Ángel. In his honour, he christened the founding solera “Solera del Tío Pepe.” Thus began the legend of the world’s most famous Jerez, which in 1854, at just 20 years old, became one of the most well‑known references and the first exporter of Jerez wine in Spain. Today, with cellars located in various regions of the world, the fifth generation maintains the business in a family format and exports its products to more than 100 countries. (illustrative image)
