The young entrepreneur Manuel María González began his career in the wine world as a trader, partnering with Juan Bautista Dubosc and Francisco Gutiérrez de Agüera. Following the success of his company, he quickly became involved in production under the guidance of his maternal uncle, José Ángel. In his honor, he christened the founding solera “Solera del Tío Pepe.” Thus began the legend of the world’s most famous sherry, which in 1854—just 20 years after its founding—became one of the most renowned references and the first exporter of sherry wine from Spain. Today, with cellars located in various regions around the globe, the fifth generation continues the family business and exports its products to more than 100 countries.
