With around 600 ha spread across five estates, Casa de Arrochella is part of the new generation of wine producers in the DOC Douro and DOP Trás‑os‑Montes olive oil regions. A descendant and successor of Nicolau de Arrochella Moraes and Castro Pimentel, 1st Count of Arrochella, Bernardo de Arrochella Alegria is the main driving force behind this project, which covers more than 600 ha in the Upper Douro, including over 115 ha of vineyards. He sought to unite the links and history of Casa de Arrochella’s important ties in the Trás‑os‑Montes and Alto Douro region, driven by his passion and dedication to the Douro, and has taken on this venture as a cultural challenge aimed at highlighting the excellence and unique potentials of its Duriense region, preserving its legacy for future generations.
