With about 600 ha spread across five estates, Casa de Arrochella is part of the new generation of DOC Douro wine producers and DOP Trás‑os‑Montes olive‑oil producers. A descendant and successor of Nicolau de Arrochella, Moraes e Castro Pimentel, 1st Count of Arrochella, Bernardo de Arrochella Alegria is the driving force behind this project, which covers more than 600 ha in the Upper Douro, including over 115 ha of vineyards. He has sought to unite the ties and history of the Casa de Arrochella’s important connections in Trás‑os‑Montes and Alto Douro with his passion and dedication to the Douro, treating this venture as both a cultural challenge and an opportunity for Casa de Arrochella to showcase the excellence and unique potential of its Dourian region, as well as its legacy for future generations.
