The Cooperative Winery of Granja, with over 60 years of history, benefits from the excellent conditions the Alentejo offers for producing ultra‑high‑quality wines, appreciated worldwide. The great recognition of the quality of wines produced here came in 1989, when a wine was named “World Champion” in a competition held in Ljubljana, former Yugoslavia. Since 2007, the winery has continued to evolve with the modernization of the entire production line, while preserving the region’s traditions, notably the production of tank‑fermented wine, a tradition inherited from the Roman Empire, and the use of the region’s characteristic grape varieties.
