This “Guru” from Wine & Soul is a wine brimming with wisdom, born from a vineyard boasting over 56 years of age, nestled on schist and granite soils. The grapes – Gouveio, Viosinho, Rabigato and Códega do Larinho – offer a remarkably elegant maturity, subtly softened by 15% of new French oak during ageing. That lengthy *battonage* – a technique steeped in tradition – delivers a fantastically persistent finish and an acidity that beautifully balances the citrus aromas with the wine’s distinctive mineral notes. A well-deserved 94 points, this would be divine with some perfectly grilled shellfish.
